Nonna Etta’s “Risotto alla Milanese” bordered on perfection,
as the works she tailored every day.
The heritage of the Brand starts in Milan in the 1930s, when my grandmother Antonietta Quartieri started to work in several tailor shops in the city center, since she couldn’t work as an apprentice in her father’s shoe shop where her father used to work. While she started by picking up cut pieces of fabric from the floor, she eventually became an accomplished tailor. Everything was strictly handmade, since the use of their only sewing machine was restricted to the shop owner.
She kept gaining experience with joy and levity, even through the difficult years of the war, always wearing a smile on her face, switching easily from crafting shirts, to raincoats and even ties.
Nobody carried on this tradition, so a very important part of my family and my heritage was at risk of being lost forever, slowly sliding into oblivion.
My passion and this realization led me to search for a unique product which includes two different souls: one deeply rooted in my past and my traditions, and another connected with the present: that’s how Quartieri ties were born.

Each Quartieri tie is crafted using the best Italian fabrics, the result of years and years of research and expertise which was handed down; the entire crafting process is distinguished by attentive ethics towards the work and the environment.
Balancing the shell and the interlinings was fundamental to create the perfect tie.

Quartieri ties have two precious souls, like Milan.
The choice to create a perfect tie was to put together two precious interlinings.
Two interlinings which are like two different personalities like the city of Milan that only who was born and raised fully understand: one, the wool, smooth and comforting, the other severe and apparently reserved.
The deepest soul is a middle weight pure virgin wool to give softness, body and a structure to the tie.
The second one is in pure cotton which after some particular treatments joints perfectly to the other without using any glue or chemical additive.
Together these are the backbone of a perfectly balanced tie.
